Pumpkinfest Brings Artistry and Fun to Doylestown
This past weekend saw the return of the hugely popular Pumpkinfest to Doylestown, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
The amazing weekend that was filled with artistry and fun attracted huge crowds to the grounds of the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works off of Swamp Road.
The highlight of the event was pumpkin carving that took place on Saturday during the day, followed by Jack O Lantern viewing at night. Visitors got the chance to observe as professional and amateur carvers turned pumpkins into works of art and then witnessed their transformation into lighted masterpieces during nighttime.
The carvers had six hours to transform huge pumpkins into works of art. The finished products were then judged by a panel of celebrity judges to determine the winner of the grand prize. The public also had a chance to weigh in with the People’s Choice awards.
Other Pumpkinfest activities included Touch a Tractor, face painting, balloon twisting, live music, and arts, crafts, and cultural displays, as well as free TileWorks tours with trinkets, spooky surprises, and beverages.
Live entertainment included performances by Froggy, Giants of All Sizes, Faux Friends, Attack Dog, Sell by Yesterday, and Swing ‘N’ A Miss, among many others.
