Singer, Quakertown Native Shows Off Her Musical Skills on ‘The Voice’
Laura Williams, a 20-year-old Quakertown musician, truly shined during her performance on the hit show “The Voice” in October 2023, writes Gianna for 94.5 PST.
The Voice is a singing competition in which singers audition in a “blind audition” process with four celebrity judges. At the start of the performance, the judges have their backs turned to the performer and they have to assemble their teams based solely on the sound of each of the singer’s voices.
Williams got to showcase her incredible voice in an amazing rendition of Lauren Spencer Smith’s song “Fingers Crossed.” Her performance wowed all four coaches and netted her the much-coveted four-chair turn as Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Reba McEntire all wanted her to join their team.
In the end, she decided to go with Horan, as a huge fan of his former band, One Direction. That was also a calculated decision for the young singer to make as Horan was the coach of last season’s winner, Gina Miles.
