Several orchards in Bucks County offer you the chance to partake in peak autumnal fun by picking your own apples, write Hira Qureshi and Nick Vadala for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The apple-picking season starts at the end of August for the majority of Pennsylvania with Ginger Golds and Honeycrisps ready to be picked. It usually lasts until mid-November.
This year, Styer Orchard in Langhorne will resume apple picking with their pick-your-own crops of Jonagold, Mutsu, and Golden Delicious apples. Make sure to bring your own bag.
You can pick your own apples Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Solebury Orchards in New Hope start offering apple picking on September 7. The farm grows more than 30 varieties of apples seasonally, including Pixie Crunch, Fuji, Keepsake, Pink Lady, and others.
Meanwhile, Solebury’s farm market is a true paradise for apple lovers with its delicious offerings of applesauce, apple butter, apple chips, fresh cider, and much more.
You can pick your own apples Thursday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The weekend sessions require a reservation.
