Ambler offers a great vacation alternative for fans of Pennsylvania’s Jim Thorpe.

Jim Thorpe might be the mainstay for vacationers in Pennsylvania looking to get away, but Ambler is a great local alternative, reports Joseph Adebisi for The Travel.

Ambler combines great entertainment with a touch of nature. Visitors can enjoy family friendly entertainment and a wide variety of restaurants. Food and music festivals are held throughout the year.

Microbreweries, cafes, and old-school movie theaters line Butler Pike. For those who are looking for more nature, Ambler offers Four Mills Nature Reserve and several other parks. Dogs are welcome in the parks as long as they are leashed.

History buffs can venture off the main street and check out the Lindenwold Castle, built in 1890.

The Montco town has something for everyone, including lovers of the arts. The historic Ambler Theater has an ongoing rotation of films – old and new. Or take in some classical music with the Ambler Symphony Orchestra.

The cozy town lies in the heart of Montco and is easily accessible from the turnpike and 309. Once visitors arrive, everything in Ambler is a short walk away.
