Bensalem-based Rita’s Ice is a classic summer treat, and Tasting Table’s Madison Patterson recently ranked the flavors.
After sampling and evaluating each option, the author identified the top flavors and those that fell short.
At the bottom of the list, flavors like Mint Chocolate Chip and Chocolate disappointed, with the former described as having an unpleasant, rehydrated taste and the latter being overly sweet and lacking depth.
Meanwhile, flavors like Cotton Candy and Mango were praised for their balance and refreshing qualities, despite the latter being a bit too intense for some.
Topping the rankings was Wild Black Cherry, which Tasting Table found to be the best of the bunch. This flavor stood out for its rich, dark sweetness, balanced tartness, and the inclusion of real cherry pieces, making it a fan favorite.
