Bensalem’s Rita’s Italian Ice Continues Expansion Out West, Opens New Location in Arizona

A popular water ice chain in Bucks County is continuing to move out West as they open another location in warmer climates.

Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, formerly known as Rita’s Water Ice, recently announced their latest location opening in Tucson, Arizona. Located at 4210 North 1st Avenue, Suite 4210-100, the new water ice and ice cream shop is sure to help local residents cool off with a uniquely Bucks County treat.

“We are delighted to welcome our newest shop in Arizona, Rita’s of Tucson!” the chain said online. “Complete with walk-up and walk-in service, plus spacious indoor seating, Rita’s of Tucson is sure to be your new summer hot spot.”

In Arizona, the chain already had four other locations; two in Phoenix, one in Glendale, and one in Peoria. The brand had a massive expansion into California, as well as Nevada and Utah.

The popular chain was founded in 1984 by Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo and named after his mother, Rita.

Rita’s Italian Ice has become a popular stop for Bucks County locals and visitors. Now with nearly 600 locations serving customers around the country, the chain is a household name in the area.
