Federation Housing Inc. broke ground for the 60-unit Daniel B. Green House at 4695 Somerton Road, with an expected opening in September 2025.
The $26 million initiative is financed through $18 million in state and federal tax credits from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, and a Firstrust Bank loan.
Additional support comes from Federation Housing, the Green Family, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
The facility will offer extensive social services, transportation, meal programs, and recreational activities for residents 55 and older, featuring an activity room, computer lab, library, and outdoor walking path.
Bucks County faces a dire affordable housing crisis, with only 31 affordable rentals per 100 extremely low-income individuals.
