Chalfont residents have been vigilant since Rob Jerman’s six sheep escaped their 15-acre enclosure last month, writes Jess Rohan for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Daily updates flood a local Facebook group, with users eager for news on the wandering flock.

On Friday, a neighbor on Stump Road reported, “THE SHEEP ARE IN MY UPPER FIELD,” prompting a quick recovery of two sheep. However, Jerman and neighbors couldn’t capture the remaining four despite hours of effort.

“People are learning just how fast sheep can be when they want to be,” Jerman remarked.

Efforts to recapture the sheep have involved Jerman’s border collie and his equestrian friend Brynn Posavec. Tranquilizer darts are now being considered due to the sheep’s thick wool.

The sheep have roamed several miles since escaping from Warrington, even crossing the busy Limekiln Pike.

Grateful for community support, Jerman noted, “Heck of a way to meet your neighbors, but I do have the sheep to thank for meeting some delightful and caring people.”
