State Senator Steve Santarsiero and Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership joined forces with the Blue Zones organization to host two keynote events to introduce “Blue Zones Ignite Bucks Area,” writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The first event was at the Wharf in Bristol Borough on July 22. Margaret Brown from Blue Zones delivered the keynote focused on the Lower Bucks area.
The second event took place the following day in Linksz Pavilion at Bucks County Community College in Newtown Township. Dan Buettner Jr. from Blue Zones delivered the keynote focused on the Central Bucks area.
Both events featured a panel of experts from the Blue Zones organization and include audience questions and answers.
Blue Zones is based on two decades of research and scientifically proven lessons from the longest-living communities in the world on longevity, health, and happiness.
During the Ignite phase of the project, Blue Zones will assess the current state of the community’s well-being through engagement and education. This will culminate in recommendations for a transformation of the area into a Blue Zone.
