The Newtown Theatre will be hosting an upcoming benefit concert, with the proceeds going toward dementia research. John Fey wrote about the charitable show for the Yardley Patch.
Artis Senior Living of Yardley, an assisted living facility, will be hosting “A Night With ‘Hello, I Must Be Going’” at the theater on Aug. 10. The band, a Phil Collins tribute band, will perform at the theatre at 8 PM. Doors to the event open at 7 PM.
Betsy Szamboti, Director of Community Relations for Artis Senior Living of Yardley, said that the proceeds from the show will go on to benefit Penn Memory Center, a branch of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
“We’ve been partnering with Penn Memory Center since 2017,” Szamboti said. “But this is the first time we’ve done a benefit for them.”
Al Caserta, the front man of the band, said that the group will not take a cent for their performance. They want all the proceeds to go toward dementia research.
“It’s for a great cause,” Caserta said. “A win-win for everybody.”
Caserta also said the band has been know to dabble in the music of Genesis, Collin’s famous rock band.
