Juneteenth celebrations in Bucks County will span two weekends, starting on June 15 in Doylestown and concluding on June 22 in Langhorne, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
Here’s a lineup of the much-anticipated events:
June 15
The Mercer Museum will be celebrating the theme “Back To Roots.” From 10:30 AM to 4 PM it will host speakers, performances, DJs, food trucks, vendors, artisans, and family-friendly activities.
Attendees can join yoga at 10:00 AM, and hear historian Pat Mervine speak at 1 PM. There will also be a featured discussion on Black community health by Dr. Monique Gary and Vanessa Stay Ma.
Parking is available at the Bucks County Parking Garage with a shuttle service to the Mercer Museum.
June 23
From 3 to 7 PM, Washington Crossing Historic Park will host events focusing on the contributions of Black American soldiers during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. It will include featured lectures by Noah Lewis and Sgt: Algernon Ward Jr., living history presentations, and a performance by The Quake Band.
June 22
Celebrate with the African American Museum of Bucks County at Mayor’s Park from 10 AM to 4 PM. The festival features educational speakers, live music, kid-friendly activities, food trucks, and more. The museum seeks vendors and volunteers for this community event.
