Springfield Resident Caroline Pamukcu Set to Compete in Paris Olympics Equestrian Events
Springfield resident Caroline Pamukcu is set to compete in the Olympic Games next month, representing the U.S. in equestrian events in Paris, writes Rick Holmes for WFMZ.
She dedicates 12 hours a day to perfecting her skills at Buckwampum Farm, a place she regards as an equestrian haven.
She has been training here since she was seven, finding the region’s terrain ideal for conditioning horses.
“The crazy thing is I don’t even feel like I’m working, this is what I love,” said Caroline.
Pamukcu’s Olympic journey wouldn’t be possible without her exceptional partner, Blake, a 9-year-old Irish sport horse. “He just puts his head down and wants to win,” she said.
The duo’s success includes a Gold medal at last year’s Pan Am Games in Chile. Their achievements are supported by a dedicated team, including farm staff, Blake’s owners, the U.S. Equestrian Federation, and Caroline’s husband, Deniz.
The equestrian events at the Olympic Games begin on July 25, with high hopes for Caroline and her team.
