Doylestown’s Delaware Valley University stables are raising the next generation of racehorses, with 24/7 live cameras to track their journey.

Doylestown’s Delaware Valley University stables are raising the next generation of racehorses, reports Marcella Baietto for CBS News Philadelphia.

With 24/7 live cameras, anyone can track the journey of these new foals online. From weeks before the due date to the days after the foal is born, viewers can watch the foals’ entrance into the world every step of the way.

Spruce was the first foal to be born this season. The mares and foals can be watched in the stalls and outside.

Students can use the technology to monitor and track the over a dozen foals born each season, as they care for each horse.

“They really get experience with everywhere from collecting the stallion…being here for the foaling and then helping sell the yearlings,” says Cory Kieschnick, the Director of Equestrian Sports at Delaware Valley University.

The University’s partnership with the Pennsylvania Horseracing Association led to the first foal cam featuring a horse that is now racing in the Kentucky Derby.
