Founder of Taste Creators in Fishtown Helps Musicians Navigate the Music Industry
Brianna DeMayo opened Taste Creators, her own private recording studio, in Fishtown, in 2022, and helps up-and-coming-musicians find their way within the billion-dollar music industry, writes Nate File for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
At Taste Creators, DeMayo and her team help upcoming musicians with performing coaching, business strategy and audience monetization, content creation, and other elements that often determine artists’ success. This is beyond their talent, looks, and luck.
“I just knew I wanted to protect artists, and I just love helping people,” DeMayo said.
DeMayo was around music all her life while growing up in South Philadelphia.
She, herself, was in a pop music singing group with her nephew and a friend when she was a teenager. They did shows all over the city, and even performed at the Apollo Theater in New York when she was 14.
Her mother studied how the music industry and contracts work, and kept DeMayo away from signing with a label.
While she became discouraged by the industry and stopped performing as she got older, DeMayo remained interested in the business side and helps others in that realm through her company.
“The mission is to change how the business is done to be more in favor of the artist. That’s the big goal,” DeMayo said.
