Jalen Hurts congratulated the Archbishop Wood High School's girls' flag football team for their success in the Football League.

Philadelphia EaglesJalen Hurts congratulated the Archbishop Wood High School’s girls’ flag football team for their success at the Eagles Girls’ Flag Football League state championship, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.  

The Vikings, champions of the Catholic League, clinched the state title with a convincing 34-14 victory over Gwynedd Mercy Academy at the NovaCare Complex. 

En route to the championship game, Wood dismantled Palumbo, the Public League champions, in a 33-0 semifinal rout.  

Gwynedd Mercy advanced by edging out Abington 26-21 in the other semifinal matchup. 

Key plays from Lauren Greer’s interception and Ava Renninger’s long touchdown strike to Sophia Topakas propelled the Vikings to the dominant win.  

Renninger, the Catholic League girls’ basketball MVP, showcased her versatile athleticism on the gridiron. 

With their resounding triumph, Archbishop Wood asserted their prowess in the rapidly growing sport of girls’ flag football, capturing the prestigious Pennsylvania state championship.
