Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, continues to be a premier destination to host sports tournaments and the Valley Forge Sports team of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board is proving just that.

The team is thrilled to have just hosted a historic weekend with more than 10,000 visiting athletes and families among multiple sporting events, including two national events: U.S Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup and NXL Paintball’s Mid-Atlantic Major.

The US Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup was the single largest sporting event to ever come to Montgomery County with record-breaking attendance. The tournament featured 120 teams from the Northeast region at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School this past weekend.

Approximately 2,500 players and 60 referees participated from 15 U.S states. The tournament generated an economic impact of around $5.5 million.

Also, this past weekend, NXL Paintball hosted the third event of the 2023 National Xball League season in Royersford. The Mid-Atlantic Major has been known to feature the largest non-World Cup turnout of the season showcasing not only the best of the east coast, but some of the best paintball teams in the country. This event produced more than 2,000 hotel room nights and an economic impact of $1.7 million.

“Valley Forge Sports continues to show why Montco is a hotbed for all sports,” said VFTCB’s Director of Sports Jon Scheuren.

“The destination provides everything a tournament needs to be successful and exactly what a family needs to have a great experience.”

Other upcoming historic events include the Pottstown Rumble, the largest grass doubles volleyball tournament in the world with over 5,000 competitors, the We Run the World Flag Football Tournament, the nation’s largest all-girls flag football tournament, several national lacrosse events, and many more.

Additionally, Valley Forge Sports will host more than 10 national events in Montgomery County this year. The USA tournaments held in 2023 will generate a combined total of 13,500 hotel room nights and more than $11 million in economic impact for Montgomery County.

  • USA Water Polo: Pennsylvania Club State Championship
  • USA Wrestling: 14U National Duals
  • US Youth Soccer: Eastern Presidents Cup

Valley Forge is located right on major highways, just 18 miles from Philadelphia, and with more than 80 hotels, there’s more than one within a short drive of all sporting facilities.
