New Clue Suggests Amazon Fresh in Bensalem May Finally Open

The biggest mystery in Bensalem—when will the Amazon Fresh store open—may be closer to being solved, writes Jo Ciavaglia for the Bucks County Courier Times.

A recent social media post revealed a Pennsylvania Liquor License application notice in the window of the still-closed store in the Brookwood Shopping Center.

The notice, posted on May 28, 2024, indicates that Amazon Retail LLC is seeking a permanent restaurant liquor license.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board confirmed that the license transfer was initially approved in August 2021 and renewed last year, expiring again in November 2024.

Last month, Amazon Retail LLC applied to extend the licensed premises, suggesting potential changes to the store’s layout for selling alcohol.

Bensalem Mayor Joe DiGirolamo hopes this signifies progress for the long-awaited opening.

Despite the store appearing nearly complete, Amazon has not announced an opening date, and no job postings have been made for this or the nearby Middletown location.
