Lower Merion School District Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni is transitioning to the Central Bucks School District, where he will also serve as the new superintendent, writes Max Bennett for the Patch.

“Thank you, Lower Merion, for welcoming me into your community,” said Yanni as he announced his departure.

A Bucks County resident, Yanni will maintain his current role at Lower Merion until the end of the school year and provide his support to both the school board and the community during the transition period.

“Together, we have done great work, and I have every confidence in the Board’s ability to select a capable and dedicated leader who will build on our shared successes,” he said.

Lower Merion will commence a local and national search for his successor, said Yanni, and this will include “opportunities for stakeholder input and community engagement to inform the qualities and capabilities to be incorporated into the position description and candidate profile.”
