Solebury School Cuts Ribbon on Hope Hall, Its First Dormitory in Over 25 Years
Solebury School recently officially cut the ribbon on its first dormitory since 1998, Hope Hall, writes for the Patch.
The ceremony marked the dedication of the residential addition which opened for students last fall was attended by supporters, constituents, staff, faculty, and special guests.
“The addition of Hope Hall and an upgraded infrastructure will support our students, faculty, and facilities now and into the future,” said Tom Wilschutz, Head of School.
Hope Hall is a prime example of sustainable living. It is the first Phius Core certified Passive House multi-residential building in the county and one of the first in Pennsylvania. It was designed by Metcalfe Architecture & Design.
Hope Hall features a 32-bed student dormitory and four faculty apartments. Planning for the architectural structure is part of the school’s 30-year strategic plan. The success of Shaping Solebury helped finance the installation of the wastewater treatment plant with microbioreactor technology.
