‘Noises Off’ Lights Up Bucks County Playhouse with Star-Studded Cast
The renowned farce “Noises Off,” celebrated as one of the funniest plays ever, is currently captivating audiences at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, writes Alicia Vitarelli for 6 ABC.
This acclaimed Broadway production features a dynamic cast, including Jen Cody as “Dotty” and Marilu Henner reprising her role as “Belinda” from the 1992 film adaptation.
The play offers a humorous and meta-theatrical experience by showcasing a play within a play, where the actors are portrayed both in and out of their stage roles, leading to a cascade of comedic mishaps.
Jen Cody, also known for voicing Charlotte LaBouff in Disney’s “The Princess and The Frog,” shares her personal connection with the play, recalling how it inspired her career choice during her teenage years.
Alongside her, Marilu Henner, recognized from the TV show “Taxi” and numerous films, revisits her character, embodying Belinda’s blend of assertiveness and warmth. The cast is rounded out by Richard Kline, best known for his role in “Three’s Company.”
This engaging production, which allows the audience to be ‘in on the joke,’ runs through June 16th at the scenic venue.
