Levittown native Luke DiSangro has made a name for himself in the world of professional wrestling and autism acceptance.

Levittown native Luke DiSangro has made a name for himself in the world of professional wrestling, writes Matt Breen for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Diagnosed with autism, Tourette’s syndrome, OCD, and ADHD, DiSangro faced relentless bullying in his youth, leading to the unwelcome nickname “Twitch.”

However, a pivotal moment came when he encountered CM Punk’s defiant wrestling promo in 2011, which spoke directly to DiSangro’s struggles with acceptance and identity.

This turning point led DiSangro back to the wrestling world, a domain he had previously abandoned in an attempt to fit in.

Adopting the very nickname that was meant to demean him, DiSangro, now known as “Twitch,” reclaimed his story and stepped into the wrestling ring with newfound purpose.

His wrestling journey began in his teens at the Monster Factory in South Jersey, where he also had the opportunity to train NFL players Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson for a surprise appearance at WrestleMania

Kelce, an advocate for autism acceptance, found a special connection with DiSangro.

Now a wrestler who performs several times a month while working a full-time job, DiSangro hopes to inspire others facing similar challenges.
