Nine Bucks County nonprofits have received grants from Foundations Community Partnership through its Partnership in Youth Services program, writes Jeff Werner for The Patch.
These grants, totaling $36,000, aim to improve the behavioral health and human services available to 1,072 local residents.
Tracy Pasternak Willis, chair of FCP’s board, highlighted the focus on supporting new applicants with innovative and impactful ideas, continuing a tradition that started in 2007.
Among the recipients, the Barn Nature Center Foundation was awarded $4,500 to engage at-risk youth in animal care as part of court-ordered community service, fostering empathy and responsibility.
Other notable grants include $4,500 to the Bucks County Center for Independent Living to organize an educational fair for young adults with disabilities, and $4,000 to the Bucks Learning Cooperative for constructing an outdoor learning environment that promotes practical skills like woodworking and gardening.
Further contributions support various initiatives, including scholarships for youth summer programs at Delaware Valley University, family preservation efforts by Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, and a multi-sensory interpretive experience at Washington Crossing Park for visually impaired visitors.
