Quakertown’s Mason Ziegler and Pennridge’s Sam Kuhns left an indelible mark at the PIAA Wrestling Championships, writes Tom Housenick for The Morning Call.

Ziegler, achieving a school-record 167 wins out of 186 matches, battled through his final competition to secure a bronze medal in the Class 3A 121-pound category.

The moment was bittersweet, marked by the realization that it was his last match under the guidance of his father and coach, Dan Ziegler.

Kuhns, a formidable competitor with 127 career victories, clinched fifth place at 152 pounds through a thrilling sudden-victory decision.

Kuhns, who will pursue football in college, also celebrated this milestone with his father and coach.

“My dad is an amazing coach,” he said. “He’s brought so many into our program, to get it to where we are now. It’s awesome to see how far we’ve gone.”
