Levittown musician Ricky Moyer, whose American Idol audition aired this past Sunday, officially got the golden ticket, reports Alicia Vitarelli for 6 ABC.

Moyer describes his audition as surreal.

“It was super crazy,” Moyer said. “It feels like you’re in the TV box when you stand in front of the judges.”

The 22-year-old Neshaminy High School grad is not the first person from his alma mater to be a contestant on the show.

Catie Turner was a contestant on the sixteenth season during her senior year, while Moyer was still a junior.

Moyer tells 6 ABC how seeing Catie thrive on TV inspired him.

“Neshaminy! I don’t know what’s in the water!,” says Moyer.

Moyer likens his artistic style to Sam Smith and Adele. He was praised by the judges, particularly Katy Perry, for his soulful music.
