Mel and Rel Kulenski, a Falls Township couple, are auctioning off a large Pokémon collection to help finance the required renovations that will help them foster kids in need of a home, writes Tom Sofield for Levittown Now.

The wives moved into Mel’s family home in 2021 from their apartment.

“There were two of us and we had all this space,” said Mel, a social worker and therapist. “It almost felt wrong.”

After a miscarriage in 2022, the pair started exploring the option of fostering children. They soon realized that was the right decision for them, and they have since welcomed two teenagers into their home through Bucks County Children and Youth.

The experience has proven to be rewarding, and now they are looking to foster a third kid. But to do so, they need to implement some upgrades – like turning their garage into a wheelchair-accessible living space – that will cost between $50,000 and $60,000.

To achieve this, Mel is auctioning off her Pokémon collection, including cards, toys, games, figurines, and gaming consoles.

They have also started a GoFundMe campaign for the renovations.
