Warminster's Archbishop Wood High School basketball star Jalil Bethea has risen from benchwarmer to prodigy.

Warminster basketball star Jalil Bethea has risen from benchwarmer to a prodigy, reports Gabriella Galati for 6 ABC.

The senior guard at Archbishop Wood High School has been named to the prestigious McDonald’s All-American team, making him the first player in the school’s history to achieve this honor.

This distinction places him in the elite company of basketball legends such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan, all of whom began their storied careers as McDonald’s All-Americans.

“In middle school, I was never used to not playing,” Bethea shared. “And then when I got to high school, it just humbled me and just made me work even harder.”

From not seeing a minute of playtime to becoming the reigning Catholic League MVP and a program leader in scoring, Bethea’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric.

“I’m just glad I just stuck to it and actually not leave the school, because the school actually helped me a lot,” said Bethea, reflecting on his journey.
