Chase Bank has opened more than 50 branches across the city over the last 5 years, and many more are on the way.

To reach its goal of reaching 100 local branches by 2027, Chase Bank is planning to almost double its retail employee headcount and open more than 40 new branches in the Philadelphia market over the next three years, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal

Chase entered the Philadelphia retail banking market in 2019, and since then has hired 400 retail banking employees in the region.

The plan now is to add more than 300 new jobs by 2027, each offering a minimum salary of $20 to $25 an hour and a benefits package valued on average at approximately $16,647 per employee.

Currently with 57 branches in the Philadelphia retail market, Chase has surpassed it targeted goal of 50 locations within five years upon opening its first site in Camden in late 2018.

“Philadelphia’s remarkable progress has exceeded expectations, and we are dedicated to ensuring that more individuals can seize the opportunities this city represents,” said Chase Consumer Banking CEO Jennifer Roberts in a statement.

Chase has met its goal of adding 30 percent of all its branches in low- to moderate-income neighborhoods, and plans to continue that, along with other philanthropic efforts, as its footprint grows.
