Best of France Antiques in Mechanicsville doubles as both a whimsical retail destination and a roadside attraction.

Best of France Antiques in Mechanicsville doubles as a retail destination and roadside attraction, writes Olivia Harrison for The Signal.

When antique collectors and passersby approach the store on Route 202, they are met with eight-foot-tall dinosaur statues.

This prehistoric decoration is only a taste of the whimsical experience that Best of France has to offer.

Set on a former farmland, the property features a three-level barn, display area, and workshop housing a collection of unique finds from around the globe.

Some of the larger items acquired by the owners must go through special customs at local ports.

The antique emporium’s barn takes collectors back in time, offering medieval armor and weaponry on the first floor, vintage furniture on the second, and elegant French chandeliers adorning the third.

Also on the property is an outdoor sculpture garden of mythical creatures. Customers can also stroll in the gardens often graced by peacocks and investigate outdoor decorations for sale.
