Morrisville’s Asher Roth, an independent artist famous for his lyrical acuity, recently unveiled his collaboration with Logic, a rapper and record producer, writes Karan Singh for Respect My Region.

The connection between the two musicians was made through Roth’s college friend who is also Logic’s manager.

Logic asked for Roth’s number after hearing about the artist’s Discord where he is getting to know his fans and helps them create their beats. They met for the first time after Logic’s show in Philadelphia and immediately hit it off.

“I really value the power of spoken word and music, and I never wanted to misuse that,” said Roth.

“I sound naïve, but people be saying stuff without realizing that they’re casting spells, so I became more mindful as I got older. Bobby seemed drawn to the fact that I was saying that out loud, which is why we connected.”

The collaboration will mix Roth’s and Logic’s beats and lyrics for something truly unique.

“It’s kind of like a beat tape with raps, so it moves really fast and is held together like a quilt,” said Roth.
