Evie Dugan has been volunteering at Warminster Food Bank for 45 years, and despite being 90 years old, she has no plans to retire any time soon, writes Nick Iadonisi for 6 ABC.

“I heard someone say: ’45 years and you didn’t want to get paid for anything?’” said Dugan. “And I said ‘No, that’s not the reason. I wouldn’t have even thought about it.'”

Her main job over the years has been inventory management of the food pantry. She makes sure that food is organized and as fresh as possible for the food bank’s clients to receive.

“What she does is she’ll get all the shelves, she’ll organize,” said Mike Cerino, Executive Director of Warminster Food Bank.

The passion she feels for helping others has been keeping her young, and her service has no end in sight.

“Once you stop you’re done,” said Dugan. “I just hope I keep going until the end. I think it’s just something within me, I never feel like I’m too tired to do anything. The mind says: ‘Yeah, keep going.'”
