The life-size sculpture of singer and songwriter Danny “Rio” DeGennaro located on the Bucks County Community College’s Newtown campus continues to inspire and captivate visitors a decade after it was commissioned.

Titled ‘Creative Inspiration’, the sculpture was created by artist Nilda Comas. To create the sculpture, the artist opted for the location and the large rock the singer would often sit on next to an elementary school.

Local kids would gather there at night or during the day to listen to him play on his six-string Martin guitar as he sang his soulful songs.

Comas also studied DeGennaro’s clothing, sunglasses, and his acoustic guitar for the bronze statue.

The statue is a reminder of the singer’s legacy. It depicts him in a moment of creative inspiration, holding his guitar with a look of passion on his face. It is a tribute to both his talent and the impact he made on the local music scene.

The Danny DeGennaro Foundation, established in memory of the famous singer and songwriter, and Bucks County Community College invited the community to visit the campus and experience the statue for themselves.
