Doylestown-based nonprofit Main St. formerly known as Pine2Pink raised an impressive amount of $138,000 for breast cancer patients.

Doylestown-based nonprofit Main St. raised the impressive amount of $138,000 for breast cancer patients, according to TapintoDoylestown.

The plethora of cash can be credited to the abundance of Pink Out events hosted in local schools, open houses at small businesses, along with the 62 sponsors and 91 partners.

One of the non-profit’s largest individual business donors is The Thompson Organization, which donated $534,000 over the past six years. This year it donated $30,000 to the cause.

The proceeds will go to cancer patients’ cost of treatment and recovery, including special cooling caps that reduce hair loss, home food delivery, transportation, integrative health services and out-of-pocket expenses.

Other donated funds were used for state-of-the-art infusion chairs at Buckingham’s Fox Chase Cancer Center and Doylestown Health’s Cancer Institute.
