Bucks County Brimming with Wrestling Talent This Winter

The new wrestling season is shaping up to be a good one with plenty of talent coming back in Bucks County, writes Drew Markol for PhillyBurbs.com.

Among the returning wrestlers are state qualifiers and regional champs, and they are bound to play a major role for their teams this season.

Senior Joe Collins, of Central Bucks East, won a PIAA Class 3A Southeast Regional title at 285 pounds last season to qualify for the PIAA championships.

Sophomore Chris Dennis, of Central Bucks West, is the holder of a PIAA Class 3A Southeast Regional title at 114 pounds. He became the school’s first freshman to win a PIAA medal when he placed sixth in Hershey.

Returning to Conwell-Egan is senior Kevin Bagnell. He won a PIAA District 12 Class 2A title last season and won fifth place at Southeast Regionals to qualify for the PIAA tournament at 114 pounds.

Eren Sement is a junior at Council Rock North who won his second-straight PIAA Class 3A Southeast Regional title at 127 pounds last year. He also placed third at the PIAA championships.
