As the home to many antique dealers, a vibrant playhouse, a walkable downtown area, and many charming bed-and-breakfasts, New Hope is the perfect spot for your next bucolic country escape, writes Ariel Okin for Vogue.

Nestled along the Delaware River, New Hope offers gorgeous views of the water at every turn. And while it may be a small town, New Hope has more than enough sophisticated options to satisfy any urbanite.

There are many options for staying overnight, including River House at Odette’s, an urban-inspired hotel, the Inn at Bowman’s Hill, a charming traditional bed and breakfast, and Carriage House, a B&B in the center of town.

Dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings are just as plentiful. You can visit the Bucks County Playhouse, housed in an old grist mill, New Hope Arts Center, a vibrant gallery space, and Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, which features over 700 different flower species.

Stop by Peddler’s Village to do some shopping or browse one of its many antique shops.

Additionally, Ferry Market, Karla’s, and C’est La Vie French Bakery are some of the numerous excellent places where you can eat or just grab a coffee.
