Washington Crossing Historic Park in Washington Crossing is one of the best fall foliage spots in Pennsylvania. Marcus Schneck wrote about the local spot for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The official tourism website of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development has published its 10 Amazing Places to View Fall Foliage list, and Washington Crossing Historic Park is among them.

The park marks the spot where General George Washington and his Continental army crossed the Delaware River in 1776 in the frigid winter cold. The location boasts historic sites, wildflower areas, and natural trails. This makes it an ideal place to discover the October foliage of Bucks County.

Peak fall foliage can be observed from mid- to late October.

The best place to observe the foliage is from Bowman’s Hill Tower. It is 125 feet tall and offers a 14-mile view of scenic surroundings.

As a bonus, New Hope and its tree and specialty shop-lined streets are only a few miles upriver of Washington Crossing Historic Park.
