Mike’ Bar and Grill, now known as Mike’s York Road Tavern, has re-emerged in the Warminster restaurant scene after being closed for a year, writes Dino Ciliberti for The Patch.

The iconic mainstay was sold to a new owner who made some changes to the eatery, and opened in December 2023.

According to an article in The Reporter, the popular sports bar and restaurant used to be known as the Warminster Hotel.

The property dates to the 18th century, having originally petitioned for a license in 1730 for “entertainment for man and horse,” and included a racetrack behind the building.

The restaurant was known for its decorations of historical relics including a three-wheeler bike, an old wagon, stone wall entrances, toy cars, a blacksmith shop sign, deer heads, and more.

The new owner, whose name is coincidentally also Mike, is retaining the original character of the establishment by bringing back beloved menu items such as steak bites, stingers, and baby back ribs.
