Attorneys Daryll Hawthorne and Robert Bernardo Jr. celebrated their unique union with a “Nightmare Before Christmas” themed wedding at the Northampton Valley Country Club, writes Laura Swartz for Philadelphia Magazine.  

The love story of this duo dates to December 2016 when they met as law students at Temple University.  

After briefly dating in January 2017, life’s twists and turns caused them to part ways.  

Two years later, in December 2018, Bob sent Daryll a text after driving past her old Plymouth Meeting home.  

Fast forward to October 2021, Bob proposed at Daryll’s favorite restaurant, Amada, setting the stage for their one-of-a-kind “Hallowedding.” 

Daryll stole the show in a custom black gown adorned with gold beading, designed in collaboration with Brides & Tailor.  

Adding to her ethereal appearance was a shimmering, spiky sunburst crown and a bouquet featuring eggplant calla lilies, burgundy dahlias, roses, and eucalyptus. 

The couple’s commitment to detail was evident, from the custom Jack Skellington wedding bands. In a surprising turn of events, the officiant was a no-show. Bob’s friend Jon Patouhas, saved the day by stepping in as the ordained minister. 

The evening culminated with a cake that perfectly encapsulated the theme, boasting tiers patterned after Jack’s pinstripes, Sally’s patchwork, and the iconic spiral hill.
