A couple celebrated their wedding at a Bucks County country club, complete with a very unique and stylish holiday theme. Laura Swartz wrote about the wedding for Philadelphia Magazine.edd
Daryll Hawthorne and Robert Bernardo, Jr. recently celebrated their love with a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed wedding at Northampton Valley Country Club. The couple opted for a one-of-a-kind “Hallowedding” because they were inspired by the immortal bond between Jack and Sally from the classic Tim Burton film.
The bride planned everything about the wedding to the smallest detail. Her custom-made black gown with gold beading was complemented by a gold, spiky sunburst crown. The cascading bouquet she carried consisted of eggplant calla lilies, burgundy dahlias, ‘Sahara’ roses, and black ‘baccara’ roses, all of which were accentuated by ‘silver dollar’ eucalyptus.
Bob’s white-and-black ensemble had cufflinks of the pumpkin king Jack Skellington. The pair also designed custom rings.
The decorations, including little replicas of the holiday doors from the film, were made with help from Bernardo’s mother.
However there was one unforeseen challenge despite all the preparation: the officiant did not show up. But thankfully Bernardo’s ordained friend Jon Patouhas, Esquire, stepped in to perform the ceremony.
“Lucky for us, it was a bucket-list item for him to perform an emergency wedding,” said Hawthorne.
