For those looking for a fright this Halloween season, a park in Bucks County will be hosting a spooktacular storytelling event.

Organized by the Southampton Free Library, Tamanend Park, located in Southampton, will host Temple University professor John Dern give dramatic readings of various works of Edgar Allan Poe on Oct. 26 at 7 PM.

“Come enjoy this fireside presentation with hot drinks and treats!” event organizers said online.

“He will answer any questions you have about Poe. Come get in the mood for Halloween!”

This will not be the only event in the area where locals can hear the tales of Poe.

Grover Silcox, a program host at PBS39, will be sharing Poe’s stories at McCoole’s Arts and Events Place in Quakertown on Oct. 21, 22, 28, and 29.

Poe is widely regarded as one of the best writers in the history of the United States. Born in BostonMassachusetts, he was a magazine editor and literary critic by trade, writing his now-beloved stories while working for several major publications. He even resided in Philadelphia for a time, living at 532 North 7th Street while he was assistant editor of Burton’s Gentleman’s Magazine.
