A train ride is one of the best ways to enjoy autumn’s vibrant colors and get a spectacular view of fall foliage in Pennsylvania, writes Robin O’Neal Smith for Travel Awaits.

Luckily, you do not have to go far to be able to fully take advantage of such a relaxing trip, as the New Hope Railroad is among the twelve most scenic fall train rides in the state.

Starting in New Hope, this fun and exciting railway runs along the popular Delaware River. Riders get the chance to explore and learn more about the river during train rides.

History buffs will get an extra level of enjoyment from the ride knowing they are riding in antique trains on historic tracks built by North-East Pennsylvania Railroad in 1891.

During the ride, visitors will learn about the railway’s history and the life of early Americans during the steam engine era all the while getting to enjoy the gorgeous scenery.

There are also several special occasion rides during the fall, including a “No Hope After Dark” Halloween Festival and Speakeasy Excursions.
