The Sellersville oncology group filed a lawsuit on Sept. 5 at U.S. District Court in Philadelphia.

A judge has denied Alliance Cancer Specialists request for an injunction that would block Jefferson Health from terminating hospital privileges for the Bucks County group’s Northeast Philadelphia oncologists, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Sellersville oncology group filed a lawsuit on Sept. 5 at U.S. District Court in Philadelphia. The group accused Jefferson of wanting to monopolize cancer care in Northeast Philadelphia. In the lawsuit, the group alleged unreasonable restraint of trade and unfair trade practices, as well as anti-trust violations, tortious interference with business relations, and breach of contract.

Alliance had asked the court to award it unspecified monetary damages as well as approve an order to block Jefferson from terminating the hospital privileges at Jefferson Health-Northeast for its doctors, effective Sept. 16.

“We appreciate the judge’s careful consideration of the facts presented and the decision to reject the temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction,” said Jefferson.
