The Doylestown Bookshop and Lahaska Bookshop have announced that they have been sold to Lauren and Damian Ford.

Two longstanding bookshops in Bucks County, one in Doylestown and one in Lahaska, have announced their new owners.

The Doylestown Bookshop, located at 16 South Main Street, as well as The Lahaska Bookshop, located at 162A Peddler’s Village, Rt 263 & Street Road, have announced that they have been sold to Lauren and Damian Ford, the owners of Hendrixson’s Furniture, which has locations in Furlong and Emmaus

Previous owner Glenda Childs will stay on through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. Both bookstores will retain all of their current staff.

“Owning the bookshops has been everything I ever dreamed of and more!” Childs said in a statement. “I took great care in finding a buyer who would continue the legacy of the bookshops, serving our community and their book needs in an independent and mission-oriented manner.”

Back in May, the Doylestown location celebrated 25 years of business. The Lahaska location opened its doors in September of 2017.
