The book discusses the history of one of Bucks County's most well-known music venues.

Several businesses and venues in a Bucks County town are joining forces to celebrate a new book delving into one local bar’s history.

“Still Drinkin’ & Smokin’, Rockin’ & Rollin’”, written by authors Amy Yates WuelfingJoan Arkuszewski, and Loren Hunt, covers the long history of John and Peter’s, a popular bar and music venue in the heart of New Hope.

Farley’s Bookshop, located down the road from the venue, will be hosting a release party for the book on Aug. 22 from 6 – 10 PM, with Wuelfing in attendance to discuss her work. John and Peter’s will collaborate with he Speckled Egg Cafe to cater the event.

Founded by Peter Price and John Larsen in 1973, the colorful building has been a mainstay of the culture of New Hope and beyond, with countless major acts getting their start on their small stage.

The venue recently celebrated 50 years of music and memories with a series of concerts over the course of a week in April. The celebration came at a bittersweet time, as Price had passed away just days after the shows; a celebration of life was held in May in his memory.
