Yardley Community Comes Together, Raises $75,000 for Residents Affected by Recent Floods

Members of the community came toegther to raise funds to help pay for the damages to the homes.

Community members of a town in Bucks County came together in order to help those who were affected by the recent floods. Nina Baratti wrote about the community efforts for KYW Newsradio.

Larysa Luzeckyj was one of many people in Yardley whose home suffered major damage during the floods that occured in the area in mid-July. Just making their way to a vacation in Maine, they got the call and came back to assess the damage.

“This was something that we’ve never seen before,” said April Bollwage-Cloer, who was also affected by the floods. “We’ve always gotten a foot of water, maybe two; lost a car or two. But never like this.”

Members of the community came toegther to raise funds to help pay for the damages to the homes. Altogether, local groups were able to raise $75,000 that will go to home repairs and other flood damages.

“We wouldn’t be here and we wouldn’t be this far along without the goodness of people,” Luzeckyj said. “We love everybody in this neighborhood.”
