Montgomery County has created an interactive exhibit to teach young county residents how to be safe on the road, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.

The “Traffic Garden” features scaled-down streets with intersections and stop and yield signs. While it will be used for organized safety lessons, it will also be open to the general public during park hours.

The grand opening of the garden will be Saturday, August 26 at 11 a.m. at New Hanover Community Park in Gilbertsville.

“This unique and safe space has been designed to teach road safety behavior and skills to children and young cyclists from an early age,” county officials said.
