An elementary school in Bucks County has announced the name of their new principal, who has a long history in the school district.

Dawn Martesi, the assistant principal of Harry S. Truman High School, was recently named the new principal of Mill Creek Elementary School. The Bristol Township School Board of Directors approved the decision at a recent meeting.

With this recent decision, Martesi will be replacing Dr. Sharon Vitella, who will retire in August. Her start date is slated for Aug. 15 while her team works with Vitella’s team to ensure a smooth transition from one principal to another.

“I offer my congratulations to Mrs. Martesi,” added Superintendent Michael Nitti.  “We look forward to a great opening of a new school year under her leadership.”

Martesi holds a a bachelor’s degree in Education from St. Joseph’s University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Holy Family University, and another Masters in Reading Instruction/Literacy from Cabrini University.
