Radnor Principal Named Pennsylvania 2026 Principal of the Year

Radnor Middle School Principal Dr. David M. Wiedlich has been named the 2026 Principal of the Year by the Pennsylvania Principals Association.

The Pennsylvania Principals Association has named Dr. David Wiedlich, the principal at Radnor Township Middle School, as Pennsylvania’s 2026 Principal of the Year, writes Max Bennett for Patch.

He was selected by a panel of his peers for outstanding leadership and contributions to his school, students, and the community, according to Dr. Eric Eshbach, executive director of the Pennsylvania Principals Association.

Wiedlich spearheaded initiatives to help identify students in need and implemented support systems for equitable academic and behavioral interventions.

He strengthened student connections with advisory programs and programs that recognized soft skills such as responsibility, creativity, collaboration, and communication.

“Since the inception of the soft skills acknowledgement program in 2022, more than 400 students have been recognized for exceptional attributes,” Wiedlich said.

He also led the development of electives in global connections, digital media, executive functioning, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies.

“Dr. Wiedlich is a passionate, committed leader who genuinely cares about the success and well-being of his students, staff, and the entire school community,” said Dr. Eshbach.

Dr. Wiedlich has been an educator for 23-1/2 years and an administrator for 11-1/2. He became Radnor Township Middle School principal in 2019.
