The principal used a fun and interactive experience to promote learning amongst his students.

Scott Davis, the principal of Springfield Elementary in Quakertown, is willing to do nearly anything to inspire his students to learn, reports WFMZ 69 News.

This Thursday, the principal got covered in green slime after the school completed a reading challenge. The goal was to have every student read at least 15 minutes each evening for 100 days during the school year.

For the completed assignment, Davis donned a zip-up suit and got doused in slime by delighted students.

“Early in the fall we give the kids a suggestion box,” said Davis. “If the whole school hits 100 percent of the reading challenge, what will Mr. Davis do?”

This is not the first time the school implemented the challenge and had the students complete it successfully.

“In previous years I’ve slept on a roof, I’ve been in a dunk tank, I’ve been pied, painted,” he said, “so this year was slime the principal.”

The reading challenge had to be paused for a few years due to the pandemic but now it has returned to the delight of both students and staff.
