Bucks County Native, Music Teacher Wins Philadelphia Youth Orchestra’s 2023 Ovation Award

The local teacher was awarded of her impact on music education in the region.

A teacher in Bucks County has received a major award from a nearby music organization for her skills and commitment to her students. A.A. Cristi wrote about the teacher in Broadway World.

Noelle Casella Grand, who teachers at the the Grand School of Music in New Hope, won the 10th Annual Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute (PYOMI) Ovation Award at the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra’s 83rd Annual Festival Concert. The event was held at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

“During this past Sunday’s final Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Concert of the season, we announced our 2023 Ovation Award Recipient—Noelle Casella Grand!” the orchestra said online.

Apart from her position at the New Hope institution, Grand also conducts the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County and teaches the at Bucks County Community College.

Other finalists for the award included Charles DiGregorio of Feasterville and Susan Steen of Doylestown.

“Congratulations to all who were nominated and a special thank you to the music educators across the Delaware Valley Region who have made a profound impact on our students and to our valued partners, WRTI, J.W. Pepper Sheet Music, and Jacobs Music Company for their continued support.”
