Bucks Beautiful has recognized Melissa Eiseman with its 2022 Leadership Award. Melissa, president of Eiseman Construction (New Britain), undertook several public works, including a memorial garden for her husband, Phil. It now beautifies the exterior of the Doylestown Branch of the YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties.

“Melissa has been a highly regarded board member since 2013,” said Gary Mathern, Board President of Bucks Beautiful. “She has worked closely with [the organization] to develop community gardens throughout Bucks County.”

According to Melissa, Phil’s garden was an idea embraced by friends and supporters. A food-truck fundraiser was held at the Y, where Phil was a board of directors’ member.

Post-installation, Melissa has tended it diligently, aided by colleagues from Eiseman Construction.

“Phil was passionate about the mission of the YMCA,” Melissa said. “Memorializing his legacy with a garden that everyone can enjoy when they visit the Y fit in nicely with our support of Bucks Beautiful.

“I’m honored to accept the leadership award from Bucks Beautiful and invite others to join us in our quest to make Bucks County an even more beautiful place,” she concluded.
